Welcome to our new administration, faculty and staff members, Mrs. Dianne Karpinsky, principal, Mrs. Christine Tremonti, assistant principle, Mrs. Elisabeth Bohde, fifth grade teacher, Ms. Nadiya Oleksyuk, Ukrainian teacher, Mrs. Caroline Maddens, preschool director, and Mr. Stephan Stasiw, athletic director.

OPEN Staff and Volunteer positions:
Two volunteers, as kitchen aides are needed daily. Credit hours will be given. If you are interested in volunteering as kitchen aide or lunch monitor please call the school office, Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 – 12:00 until September 8th.
Ukrainian/English Volunteer tutors needed. Anyone interested should call the school office 586-574-2480, Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 – 12:00 until September 8th.
Part-time bilingual Kindergarten Aide needed. If interested please call the school office 586-574-2480 (Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 – 12:00).
Please note the following:
Kindergarten orientation for parents and students will be on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 7:00p.m. in the Library.
Since Easter falls on Sunday, April 24, 2011and we will not be back in school until May 2, 2011, First Holy Communion this year must be celebrated on Mother’s Day, May 8th.
We will be making Pyrohy on Friday, September 3 and Saturday, September 4, after 9:00 a.m., at the White House in Hamtramck. Please come and help our church and school. Volunteer hours will be given.
The Order of St. Basil the Great and Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church in-vite you to the Ordination of Deacon Eugene Khomyn, OSBM to the sacrament of Holy Orders “Priesthood”. Sunday, September 19th at 10:00 a.m. Reception Banquet at 1:30 p.m. at St. Josaphat Banquet Centre. Banquet tickets are $25. Please call the church rectories for more information.
I.C. Schools Benefit Banquet will be held on Sunday, October 24th at 4:00 p.m. at St. Josaphat Banquet Center.
Building Updates:
1. The library has been centralized and refreshed. We now have one large library.
2. The grade school library has been renovated and turned into an Academic and Conference Center.
3. The Academy lunchroom and girls' bathroom have been painted and renovated.
4. New lighting has been installed in the library, Conference room, and front hallways.
5. A new tractor mower has been purchased to replace the old mower.
6. Updated computers have been installed in homeroom classrooms.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Family Liturgy at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7th. On Wednesday, September 8th, school begins at 8:00am with Ringing of the Bells at 8:15 a.m. All Students PK-8 will be dismissed at 12:00 noon. Thursday and Friday, September 9th and September 10th, are full days 8:00a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Students do not need to wear uniforms until Monday, September 13th.
REMINDER
Student drop off is at the first door on the north side of the building for K-8. Preschoolers arriving before 7:50a.m. may enter through the main entrance, to wait until classes begin. Preschoolers arriving after 7:50 a.m. use the Preschool entrance.
